Partner Carl R. Amala has built a comprehensive complex litigation and dispute resolution practice at Harris, Wyatt & Amala, LLC. In addition to representing injured individuals in major personal injury cases, and families in wrongful death cases, Mr. Amala is a well-respected arbitrator in the Willamette Valley and serves as an arbitrator on a regular basis in personal injury and insurance related matters because of his over 30 years of experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation. In recognition of his legal skills, the national directory of attorneys, Martindale-Hubbell, distinguishes Mr. Amala as an AV rated attorney, indicating the height of professional excellence and integrity.
After graduating from the University of Maryland in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Government and Politics, Mr. Amala earned a Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law in 1985, where he was an Associate Editor of the Willamette Law Review. Also in 1985, he was admitted to the Oregon State Bar, and in 1986, to the United States District Court, District of Oregon. In addition to membership in various professional associations, Mr. Amala serves on the Marion County Judicial Advisory Committee, the Marion County Medical/Legal Committee, and the Marion County Arbitration/Mediation Board. Mr. Amala is also a past Chairperson of the Marion County Court Practices and Procedures Committee and a past Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Public Defender of Marion County, Inc., as appointed by the Oregon State Bar.
